Goodmanagement Announces Team Members of the Year
Newport News, Va., Jan. 12, 2007— Jeremy S. Grogg, vice president for operations, recently announced Goodmanagement’s Team Members of the Year for 2006. The General Managers at our managed properties selected many of the nominees, while senior staff at the corporate office chose the candidates in the General Manager of the Year category.
The nominations were based on overall performance and efforts to improve quality for both the property and guest service, considerations that are outlined in the Goodmanagement mission statement.
In the General Manager of the Year category there are two winners for 2006. They are Edwin Huizing, at the Aristar Resorts Club at South Mountain Preserve in Phoenix, AZ, and Kareem Miller, at the La Quinta Inn – Historic in Williamsburg, VA.
The Department Manager of the Year is Linda Chonko, Human Resources Manager for the Mountainside Villas Owners Association (MVOA) in McGaheysville, VA.
Raymond Wedge was chosen as this year’s top Heart-of-the-House Team Member. He works in the maintenance department at The Coconut Palms Beach Club in New Smyrna Beach, FL.
The Team Member of the Year in the Front-of-the-House category is Danielle Mitchell. She works in guest services at MVOA.
Other award nominees in the Department Manager category were: Cherril Dean, at MVOA, Raymond Gomez at the Coconut Mallory Marina & Resort in Key West, FL, Ivan Morales at the Coconut Malorie Resort in Ocean City, MD, and Ann Visser and Jose Rocha, both at South Mountain Preserve. In the Heart-of-the House category, the finalists included David Holsein from the Coconut Malorie Resort, and Bonafacio Gonzalez, Mike Arbogast and Stacy Siminchuk – all at MVOA. For Front of the House, Debbie Bates and Alok Rijal, both at the Coconut Malorie Resort, were nominated.
All of these nominees give exceptional efforts for their respective properties every day.
